GPIHL MISSION STATEMENT

Our mission is to craft an adult hockey experience that promotes the

sport of hockey by providing an environment that stimulates a fun,

enjoyable, and competitive experience for all skill levels.

 Greater Portland Industrial Hockey League

 The Greater Portland Industrial Hockey League formerly the PIAIHL and FICHL was formed in the spring of 2008.   The new league played out of both the Portland Ice Arena in Portland and the Family Ice Center in Falmouth brings together the elite in adult hockey in Southern Maine.  With four individual divisions encompassing all skill levels the GPIHL has a division to suit anybody's ability:

Division 1:  The most elite league in the area with Former Pros (NHL and AHL), Former Division 1 Players, Former Division 3 Players, and Former All State High School/Prep School Players, making up the majority of the league with a few exceptions.  This is an open division for all ages.

Division 2:  An extremely competitive league comprised of teams with primarily moderately advanced players.  These players may have played at the following levels: Junior B and C, Non-Varsity College (ACHA), Midget AAA or AA, Prep School or Varsity High School.  This is an open division for all ages.

Division 3:  Team is comprised primarily of experienced recreational level players, with the remainder of the team having Varsity or JV High School, Competitive Midget or Junior C experienced players.  This is an open division for all ages.  PLAYERS ON A DIVISION 1 ROSTER ARE NOT ELIGIBLE TO PLAY IN DIVISION 3.

Gentlemen's League:  Is an Over Thirty league with the exception of 2 rosters spots per team for players under thirty but over 25.  The league offers some former pro and D-1 players, solid skill players mixed in with guys new to hockey and everything in between this league contains the complete spectrum of hockey abilities.
